Reading
Listen to your child read the book from his/her book bag. Fill out the sheet enclosed and ask a few comprehension questions.
1. What was the main idea?
2. Who were the characters in the book?
3. What was the setting of the story?
4. What happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story?

Math
The goal in 1st grade to to count, write and identify numbers 1-120. I sent a set of number cards home along with 120 number chart for practice. We practice pulling a card and pointing to the number on the 120 chart and saying the number. If you want to challenge your kiddo ask he/she what 1 more or 1 less and 10 more and 10 less than the number drawn would be.
